VOSOMWO Minority Women Org , in Collaboration with WHH, Launches Small Business Management and Development Training for 30 Young Women

The Voice of Somaliland Minority Women Organization (VOSOMWO), in partnership with Welthungerhilfe (WHH), has launched an eight-day training programme on small business management and development for 30 young women who previously completed a tailoring course at the Vocational Training Centre in the Daami neighbourhood.

The training aims to equip participants with the knowledge and practical skills needed to establish, manage, and grow their own small businesses. Building on the tailoring skills they have already acquired, the programme will help participants explore business opportunities, plan their finances, and turn their vocational skills into sustainable sources of income.

Throughout the eight-day training, participants will learn about key aspects of business development, including business planning, financial management, customer service, marketing, and sustainable business practices. These skills will help them make informed business decisions, attract customers, manage their resources effectively, and strengthen their economic independence.

Completing the tailoring course was an important milestone for these young women, providing them with practical skills that can create opportunities for employment and self-employment. However, technical skills alone may not be sufficient to establish a successful business. By combining vocational training with small business management and development, VOSOMWO and WHH aim to bridge this gap and enable participants to transform their tailoring skills into viable and sustainable business ventures.

VOSOMWO remains committed to empowering women and young women, strengthening their vocational and entrepreneurial skills, and creating opportunities for economic self-reliance. Through initiatives such as this, the organization seeks to improve access to vocational education, business development support, and livelihood opportunities for young women, particularly those from marginalized communities.

VOSOMWO extends its sincere appreciation to WHH for its partnership and support in implementing this initiative. This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to empowering young women, promoting entrepreneurship, and expanding opportunities for sustainable livelihoods.
